Eigenwijs met Thijs is a unique system-therapy practice that integrates the presence of Thijs, a therapy dog, to create a safe and open environment for clients. Miranda and Thijs work together to facilitate therapy sessions where trust, sincerity, and connection are at the core. This approach aims to make the therapeutic process feel approachable and judgment-free, encouraging clients to explore deeper understandings of themselves and their social interactions in a warm and respectful space. Therapy with Thijs offers a journey of personal growth, helping individuals reconnect with themselves and others.

My role in this project was to create a brand identity and website which authentically reflected the bond between Miranda and her therapy dog, Thijs. The main challenge was to break the stigma around therapy, especially therapy involving animals, and present it as an accessible, welcoming and approachable experience. To achieve this, I developed a calming color palette inspired by coastal landscapes, using shades of sea blue and soft pastels to evoke feelings of tranquility and connection to nature. The illustrations played a key role in supporting the brand's warmth and categorising different types of system-therapy. I also designed a logo that captured Thijs’ calm, honest nature, with typography that balanced professionalism with friendliness. The branding process not only enhanced the practice's visual identity but also provided clients with a reassuring and accessible first impression, helping Eigenwijs met Thijs establish trust before therapy even begins.
